Kinesiotape

Kinesiotape is an elastic tape that assists in normal function of tissues.  It has the added effect that it is breathable and waterproof and can therefore remain on the skin for days.

It can help an individual by affecting the following 4 systems:

Analgesic System - by relieving pain.

Muscle Function – by supporting muscles in movement and increasing active range of motion.

Lymphatic System – by removing congestion of lymphatic fluid or hemorrhages under the skin and thus reducing bruising quickly.

Joint Function – by correcting malalignment of the joint caused by muscle spasm and fascial restrictions.

If a client has pain relief and/or better movement and function with the addition of  this tape, then this specific tape job can be taught by the physiotherapist and used by the client as necessary.
